The second colour option for Valve's handheld console will launch on the same day it goes on sale in Australia
Valve has announced a second limited edition colour for the Steam Deck, the all white model will launch in Australia on the same day the handheld console arrives on our shores.
Matching the specs of the 1TB OLED model, this model comes with a matching carrying case and cleaning cloth to complete the set, and will be sold at A$1099.00, which should be a little bit of a premium over the base 1TB OLED.
There are separate allocations for each region where the Steam Deck will be sold, so Australian customers won't be competing with other regions.
A spokesperson from Valve said that the response to the original smokey transparent model launched last year was overwhelming, so they were looking forward to exploring new designs in future.
All models of the Steam Deck will go on sale directly through Steam on Tuesday 19th of November, that's next week at 10:00AM in Melbourne Sydney and Hobart, 9:30am in Adelaide, 9:00AM in Brisbane, 8:30AM in Darwin and 7:00AM in Perth.
Australian prices for the standard models of the deck are below, and make sure you check out our interview with Valve's Steam Deck designers Jay Shaw, Lawrence Yang and hardware engineer Yazan Aldehayyat and keep an ear on our interview podcast Lightmap for the full interview next week.
