SPIES & SOLDIERS expects equal parts military strategy and dastardly subterfuge from its players as conflict spreads out across it's beautiful procedurally generated maps.

Go head-to-head in turn-based conflicts as your empire expands across each new world, but while your soldiers’ swords may conquer the land, your hidden spies could win you the game.

Developer Jim Batt from Ghostbat Games joins Gianni on the SIFTER Showcase to discuss this incredibly modular and equally devilish strategy game.

Some good ninja stuff, good samurai stuff, it took them a long time to get here but boy I'm glad they did.

Pros:
  • Naoe feels like the old assassins from previous games
  • Yasuke definitely doesn't, which is very welcome change
  • Absolutely stunning world that feels busy and lived in
Cons:
  • Maybe the world actually might be too big?
  • It's an evolution not a revolution, if you've bounced off Assassin's Creed in the past this doesn't break the mold.
