The Australian Writers Guild have extended their deadline for entries into the 56th annual AWGIE awards, the annual celebration of Australia's best writing.

Developers and narrative designers who have released a game in 2022 will now have until the middle of Melbourne International Games Week, Thursday 5th of October to submit their entry into Interactive Media & Gaming Category.

Previous winners include THE FORGOTTEN CITY one of the first Australian made games to win a screenwriting award which also happens to be one of my favourite games of the last couple of years.

You can find all the details on the how to submit your entry on the AWG website.

If you're looking to hone your writing craft maybe in prepartion for a future AWGIEs entry, why not check out these free events being held both on and offline over the next couple of weeks including writers of CULT OF THE LAMB, WARFRAME, ASSASSIN'S CREED and PRINCE OF PERSIA.

Some good ninja stuff, good samurai stuff, it took them a long time to get here but boy I'm glad they did.

Pros:
  • Naoe feels like the old assassins from previous games
  • Yasuke definitely doesn't, which is very welcome change
  • Absolutely stunning world that feels busy and lived in
Cons:
  • Maybe the world actually might be too big?
  • It's an evolution not a revolution, if you've bounced off Assassin's Creed in the past this doesn't break the mold.
