Applications open for games industry mentorship program The Working Lunch

The Working Lunch is back for 2019 with applications open for women and non-binary participants.

February 5, 2019 9:00 AM

Award winning mentorship program The Working Lunch has opened applications for its 2019 intake and this year expands to women and non-binary participants in both Australia and New Zealand.

Speaking to Pixel Sift in 2018 Working Lunch CEO Ally McLean said The Working Lunch was about building relationships and opportunities for entry level women in games.

“We aim to create opportunities and foster these long term working relationships between women who are awesome at what they do in games from everything between art and design, to finances and policy making, and we try to connect them with up and coming people who are going to shape, define and revolutionise the industry as we go forward,” said McLean.

“The end goal for us at The Working Lunch is to eliminate the experience of being the only woman in the room, being the only woman in the board room, the only woman on your dev team, that’s the plan.”

This year’s mentorship program will be expanded to include non-binary mentors and mentees after feedback following the first Working Lunch program

Women and non-binary people interested in applying as a mentor or mentee have until February 19 2019 and can apply on the Working Lunch website

You can listen to our full interview with Ally McLean on the Working Lunch in Episode 91 of the podcast.
